Due to its enormous popularity, the Gables Cinema has added two additional screenings on Saturday and Sunday, June 30 and July 1, at 1:00 pm of the monster-hit "Frankenstein." The "Live from the National Theatre of London" play by Nick Dear, based on Mary Shelley's seminal novel, was captured live and will be presented in digital high-definition projection. "Frankenstein" is directed by acclaimed film director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and stars 2012 "Best Actor" Olivier Award joint winners Benedict Cumberbatch (War Horse, Sherlock) and Jonny Lee Miller (Hackers, Trainspotting and star of this fall's Elementary). Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein's bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal in the play.
