Beethoven on the Beach: Clash of the Titans
Orchestra Miami is proud to continue its series of Free Outdoor Concerts, with three performances of â€œBeethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titansâ€. These concerts are presented as a gift to the community, completely free of charge. The concerts are co-sponsored by the City of Sunny Isles Beach, the City of Miami Beach and Atlantic Broadband.
â€¢ Sunday, March 24, 2013; 6:30 PM at Heritage Park (19200 Collins Avenue) in Sunny Isles Beach â€“ please bring lawnchairs/blankets. Concessions will be available, or bring your own picnic.
â€œBeethoven on the Beach, Part III: Clash of the Titansâ€ features works by Rossini, Mendelssohn and Beethoven, conducted by Orchestra Miamiâ€™s Artistic Director, Elaine Rinaldi. This yearâ€™s concert begins with the light-hearted Overture to La Scala di Seta by Gioacchino Rossini, followed by the unforgettable Concerto for Violin in E Minor, Op. 64 by Felix Mendelssohn, featuring Orchestra Miamiâ€™s Concert Master, Mei Mei Luo, as the soloist. The concert ends with Beethovenâ€™s joyous Symphony N. 2 in D Major, Op. 36.
