The City of Miami Beach is calling all dogs for a lifetime of fun!. November 13th will mark the beginning of a new dog park in Miami Beach. Washington Dog Park, located at 2nd and Washington Avenue will be celebrating the Grand Opening PAWty this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

The Washington Dog Park is our newest and most dog friendly site yet.  In June of 2009, the City Commission authorized funds for the construction of this facility. With the support and involvement from the community, the park became a reality. Miami Beach residents suggested that this park should be “something special” and the Administration worked with interested residents to collectively design the park.

"Chicago-based Kate Simko is a classical pianist turned house/techno producer. Drawing from a wide range of influences, she combines her sense of melody and structure with her dance music roots in Chicago house and Detroit techno. Whether playing live or DJ’ing, Kate’s selection maintains warmth and soul, full of funky bass lines and loose rhythms."

JAVELIN, live interview, 4pm on Thursday. They are playing a secret // post - Art Walk show this Saturday.

Cut up Bio:

"In performance, Javelin use colorfully painted boomboxes that form large speaker totems (“boombaatas”) which can hang from the ceiling or stack up on the floor like pyramids. The signal from the show is broadcast via FM transmitter, thereby fostering audience participation (B.Y.O.Boombox) or fueling battery-powered, mobile parties. The duo has played venues as diverse as the children’s branch of the Olneyville Public Library (RI), to the Museum of Modern Art (NY), both of which happened in the same week."

INTERVIEW: Damian Lazarus, 3pm
By Giovanna Stallings-Blanche posted Nov 10, 2010 at 12:15 PM

Damian Lazarus (Crosstown Rebels) interview, today at 3pm. Look out for him at the Electric Pickle again in December.

RA:

"Lazarus was born in London, where he lived until he relocated to Los Angeles in 2009. During childhood, Damian was naturally drawn to classic pop music, and inherited from his grandfather an affection for showtunes which continues to exert itself in the strangest of ways. He spent his teens immersing himself in the sounds of hip-hop, electro, soul and funk, before discovering house, hardcore and jungle at university – sparking a love of twisted, innovative dance music which endures to this day. After working as Music Editor then Assistant Editor at Dazed & Confused, Lazarus joined London Records and in 2001 became head A&R of the City Rockers label. Here he helped sign and release some of the biggest tunes of the era, including Felix Da Housecat’s ‘Silver Screen Shower Scene’ and Tiga & Zyntherius’s ‘Sunglasses at Night’; his Futurism and Futurism 2 compilations remain the definitive documents of electroclash, not only providing a snapshot of the underground at that crucial moment in time, but mapping its future too.

DZA on Electric Kingdom, DJing Live this Thursday from 7-9PM
By Amber Robertson posted Nov 09, 2010 at 04:00 PM

Catch DZA (real name Adrian Douzmanian) on Thursday, November 11 from 7-9PM. D.Z.A.began to DJ because of his love for hip hop and the hip hop culture. Inheriting and collecting a solid amount of records made him want to take it to the next level: DJing. At first Adrian would just mess around in his room and try to make mixtapes to drive to, but eventually he met local Miami DJ's who changed his mind. At first wanting to open at chocolate sundays just so he could get in, D.Z.A. is now a resident for miami's longest lasting classic hip hop parties. Through Chocolate Sundays he's been able to branch out, and is now playing at various parties around the city. Over the last year he's been DJing with Mr Mauricio regularly at clubs such as the Wall, Pangaea Lounge, Mokai, etc... Adrian's main musical influences include DJ Shadow, Pete Rock, J Dilla, Cut Chemist, DJ Krush, IAM, Supreme NTM and Boards of Canada.

The Underground is ALL NIGHT TONIGHT
By Duncan Ross posted Nov 06, 2010 at 10:16 AM

Hey People it's Duncan Ross, the original Underground DJ here. Tonight I'll be on the air from 7pm-? with the help of the Bassment Sessions DJ SPINZINN..and well.. you! Tonight after the in-studio underground Zinn will be picking it up LIVE from La Fee Verte, a very dark and sexy burlesque club at 912 71st and Miami Beach. I had a dream today...and it sounded like deep house with beautiful dancing people, Betty Paige and a Russian contortionist hanging from the ceiling in a cat suit. Why I am the only one to have this dream? Well I'm not...I just found the place. I'll be coming on after Zinn if I can see straight so listen at 7pm, give me a call or send an email to info@duncanross.net to get on the list. All the old crew from my less respectable days are coming out so I hope to see you there...and if not..tune in to get your house music fix. Up all night, on The Underground.
