Here’s our best attempt at a #robbietruth: Robert Elias is a pop musician making his way in Miami, and by the way, he’s not afraid to call himself a pop artist in this town. He performs live for us at 8pm.
He’s done pretty well for himself so far, performing and writing songs for the likes of Marc Anthony, Alejandro Sanz, Jon Secada, Don Omar & Chayanne; All latin music heavyweights for sure, meaning he could be well on his way to becoming one himself.
However, according to Elias, venues in Miami haven’t been welcoming to musicians like him. You see, he refers to himself as a pop musician, thus placing his work within a genre often stereotyped as cliche and, as he puts it in a Miami New Times article, "not cool enough" to be booked by hip local venues.
He doesn't have to worry about that tonight though! We'll give him a warm welcome when he comes in for an acoustic session and convo about his newest work “Magic City” ; We'll also talk about the Magic City's music scene and mucho más.
