Dead Air Guest: Bodycode AKA Portable Friday @ 11pm

By Uchi -  Isabella Douzoglou posted Nov 17, 2011 at 08:13 PM

Our friends at SAFE helped us set up this incredible programing. They also organized the main event Alan is performing Friday Evening. We are delighted to have Alan in the flesh transmited on the airwaves.

Alan Abrahams AKA Portable AKA Bodycode

Grew up in South Africa, came of age in London, taking time around Berlin, now Settled in Lisbon, the evolution of his life and music are very highly correlated.

Looking into his life as a man or a star, one can detect each ingredient in the dish of Alan's music according with the time and area he was in the world. Starting as a fan of Chicago house records when in Cape Town, the relocation to London Resulted in him recording as Portable. Creating a new sound led to the founding of the Süd Electronic Label with his partner Lerato. Much more development since then, changing homes to Lisbon, He conceived Bodycode, a more dance-floor oriented project, unlike Portables atmospheric experiments.

As Bodycode, Abrahams harnesses his desire to “unlock the psyche via the body,” layering tech-funk with wisps of melody, heady effects, and a liberal wash of otherworldly vocal samples.

We are so glad he will unlock the psyche of Miami, via the number one Radio Station of the nation, WVUM 90.5 The Voice.

The honor to have him on this spaceship music oriented specialty show Dead Air is indescribable.

Tune in at 11pm for his radio Appearance.
