The University of Miami Center for Autism and Related Disabilities on ‘Not For Profit’

By Shelly St. John posted May 03, 2013 at 06:59 PM

May 4th from 10-11AM on 90.5FM, the University of Miami Autism Center for Related Disabilities will join us to talk about the support services and free programs they offer to young children and adults with Autism.

Dr. Diane Adreon and Giovanna Izzo will discuss the importance of spreading Autism awareness in our communities.

Joining us tomorrow at 10AM is Dr. Diane Adreon. Since 1993, Ms. Adreon has served as Associate Director of the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University of Miami (UM-CARD) for short. In her role at UM-CARD she oversees the development and provision of training on High-Functioning Autism and Asperger’s Disorder.

The UM Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) is celebrating 20 years of excellence in serving the South Florida Autism Community. In 1993, when CARD first opened its doors, 88 families received services. Today, nearly 7,000 families across Miami-Dade, Monroe and Broward Counties are benefiting from high quality support services, and the demand for free programs keeps growing.
