WVUM Alumna is so POLEite
By posted Jun 28, 2010 at 08:21 AM

With WVUM having over 40 years of Alumni, we are always thrilled and proud to see their endeavors and successes. WVUM Alumni span through an incredible amount of disciplines and titles, but Isis Masoud has recently hit global success with her side project known as: “The Polite Girls”. The Polite Girls began with a website dare which won them $10,000. What did the Polite Girls do? Lets say it includes pole dancing in the New York Public transit. She has been contacted by media all across the world and the following interview was broadcast on the the top morning show in Australia:

Isis Masoud as well as her younger sister, Amira Masoud, contributed greatly to WVUM. Isis founded the format (what we call our “pie chart”) for the shows we still utilize today and both sisters have had many specialty shows and great radio under their belts in their time at WVUM.

WVUM encourages you to donate—Save the Gulf!

60,000 BARRELS A DAY
2.5 MILLION GALLONS A DAY
11,300 MILES ACROSS THE GULF

The BP Deep Horizon Oil Spill has become the worst environmental disaster in the history of the United States.  The impact on the Gulf’s already fragile ecosystem is enormous.  Thousands of American fisherman are indefinitely out of work.  Beach communities along the Gulf, whose entire economies rely on their once pristine beaches, now struggle to survive.
Join those who have already donated and make a difference.

Donations are being accepted on these websites: The National Wildlife Federation or Mary Queen of Vietnam Community Development Corp, Inc. Why Vietnam? 1/3 of all commercial seafood workers in the Gulf Coast are Vietnamese-American. With deep lineage in the fishing industry and little in English skills, this community is one of the hardest hit by the Oil Spill. Read more about how this community has been affected here.
