Foals Releases Solid New Album
By Kevin Sands posted Feb 27, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Review by Roshan Krishnan

Foals has always been an odd little contradiction of a band.  Their origins lie in math rock, a decidedly non-mainstream genre. Foals’ mercurial frontman, Yannis Philippakis, is an unapologetic hipster who detests catering to the lowest common denominator. Yet they don’t lack ambitions of mass-appeal. The xx crystalizes Miami
By Melanie Kleiner posted Feb 11, 2013 at 01:23 PM

"We'd like to make a formal apology for taking our da** time," Oliver Sim admits to the crowd for taking years to finally perform in Miami. It was well worth the wait, to say the least. Tuesday night, the crowd at the Fillmore in Miami Beach was stunned by the purity of Oliver Sim and Romy Madley-Croft's voices amongst the soft but throbbing electronic beats being spun by Jamie Smith in the background.
