a SUPERNOVA is not a supergroup of ageing rockstars

But it is a once in 30 years event. You can see an exploding star! (take your gf, 'I can't buy you diamonds baby, but') Right after dusk, before the moon rises, look for the big dipper, and you might need to go to the everglades or your grandmas house near chrome avenue and calle ocho. Follow the handle up and then look above the tip, it should form a triangle with the last star and second to last star. The big dipper is seen facing north and off to the west. To be honest I went to look for it the other day, but the moon was up, around 9pm, and there was too much light. So right after dusk is important. Nice view out there though, bring off. You have to do it this weekend or tonight BEFORE our Sweat records mixer, or it will begin to dim.  Read more about my new Monday morning science show, Duncan's Dissertations after the jump.
