A little smattering of everything. Especially anything produced by Christopher Lee.

I grew up as a sort of drifter.  My father was in the military, so I moved around the country every two years in my youth.  I’ve been everywhere from the tranquil shores of Hawaii to the frigid plains of Buffalo, New York!  Naturally, as part of my upbringing I developed a taste for exploring new cultures, locales, and particularly, music.  Now at WVUM, I hope to impart some of my passion for sound to listeners!

If it's good, I like it.

Hey, my name is Joseph and I’m a freshman at The University of Miami.  I am currently pursuing a major in Motion Picture Film Production and hope to be both a Director and a Screenplay Writer.  I’m a big snowboarder, and typically ride in Colorado, where the snow is the best.  I also am the author of two books, “Tamechactee: Arrow Soul” and the sequel “Tamechactee : Battle for Humanity.” I listen to all kinds of music, because if it’s good; I like it.

I play in the band Just Friends back home in CA and love making music with people. Trying to start something here but we’ll see how that turns out. Feel free to listen, I won’t stop you.

Can't yet compute. It's an ever-growing list. For starters, Thundercat is the man.

http://www.bettercallsaul.com/

Name’s Andres. I’m a cool kid.

->I’ve successfully traversed most of the midwest, due to my old man’s former career.
->Moved to Miami as an incoming freshmen in high school, and have no intention of leaving. It really is lovely here.
->Music-wise, I enjoy, dare I say, virtually every genre. More so, I’ve been playing piano for quite some time now.
->Anything related to film or music is right up my alley. Of course, I’m willing to discuss economics (mah major) too.
->I have an affinity for soundtracks. Essentially, for the sounds of film.

P.S.—-SOS. Lurking in a record store. Wages exhausted. Poverty imminent. Help me.—-

Indie Rock, Punk, Garage, Power Pop, Soul, and whatever else happens to get stuck in my head

I’m just your average pop-culture junkie from the suburbs of New Jersey. I like all different kinds of music, but being a drummer, my favorite music often has a good beat and is really loud. In fact, my doctor has instructed that I get a certain amount of rowdy rock and roll daily.

Anyway, I enjoy hearing cool new music and then passing it on to someone else, so I think radio is a pretty good place for that.

Im Nas and thats short for Nasser. My Alias in the audio world is DesertF!sh. A senior at UMiami, transferred from Geneva Switzerland to Miami my sophomore year.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is my home country, I reside in the costal town of Jeddah on the Red Sea.

My main hobby is Audio Production. That stems from my Gear Addiction Syndrome, which has given me the privilege of owning a home recording studio for my creative needs, and a collection of instruments vintage and new alike.
I like to produce electronic music of all genres. As far as i’m concerned all you need in life is a Synthesizer with PHAT BASS and a good acoustic palette, some good musicians to jam with, and the rest is smooth vibes!!!

Hey my name is Jamie Reina. I was born in Boston, Mass. before moving to San Diego, CA after two years and living out the majority of my life in California. I am a sophomore this year at the University of Miami. My favorite artists are Biggie Smalls, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, and J.Cole. I host the Hip Hop Shop specialty show and my goal is to expose listeners to no-mainstream hip-hop.

Gaby lived in many different places including Germany, Texas, and Virginia before getting stuck in Florida. Starting training in piano at age 5, then picking up guitar later, she has been a musician almost her whole life. She usually performs classical work but also enjoys doing pop and jazz. In her free time, which doesn’t really exist, she goes to concerts, hostesses, writes songs for children, tragically attempts to learn Spanish, and panics about where her life is going.

Zach D is a new DJ at WVUM. He’s still figuring things out. When he’s not in class, you can find him sleeping on his couch or, more likely, someone else’s couch. He’s that dude with the headphones.

Born in raised in Miami Dade County, then transported as 15 year old sapling to the rich Northern California soils of Sacramento. A term in Cardiff, Wales led me down the magical path of radio and sceney British bands and grubby gigs and mixing. One day I’ll clear the misconceptions of Voodoo as a professor in a university where my last name will continue to be a joke. And a radio DJ along the way. Get involved.

Hello there, I am a silver-tongued native Chicagoan (actually from the city) born into the cold, raised by the snow-covered streets and frosty music scene. You can call me Meg or McFearless if you’re really looking to get on my good side. I enjoy long bike rides along the lakefront, making my way to the front of the pit at concerts, and sitting in coffee shops pretending to be reading the latest issue of Financial Times. I’m a punk rocker at heart, preppy girl by nature, thug for life.

Hello Miami. My name is Pete and I have returned from the salty shores of Massachusetts. I worked here at WVUM from 2005-2009 when I was an undergraduate at UM, hosting a delicious little slice of evening drive time on Thursdays. Well, apparently that wasn’t enough so I’m back for grad school and most importantly, more WVUM. Tune in for two hours of ///Pete’s Beats\\\ every Thursday from 5-7pm!

I reckon it was Arvella Gray, the blind protest singer from Chicago.  She first taught me the blues, four…about five years back.  I also played piano with Bobby Vee.  I would’ve been a millionaire if I stayed with him.

I’m horrible at making my own bio’s, it reminds me of the myspace age. But I’ll give it a try.

People call me Gaby, but most notably gerbilia. Don’t let my looks fool you, I’m 20 years old. But I will probably look 16 for the rest of my life. I’m also a Miami native, a sophomore here at UM. And…................ yeah.

Every day, I live in awe of the tremendous, inspirational power that is music. I believe that some of the closest relationships I have in my life have been augmented, if not instigated, by the communion of music. As a WVUM DJ, I get to do exactly that: share the music that speaks to me with listeners from all over Miami, the United States, and even the world. In March 2014 I released my debut album as a solo artist, entitled “The Terrestrial Orchestra.” Check it out at my website, listed above.
