SCOPE Miami Beach International Contemporary Art Show
Miami Art Week is upon us, bringing with it some of the most renowned international galleries and tastemakers to the city. SCOPE Miami Beach — an international contemporary art show— is back in Miami for the 18th year.
This year’s edition of SCOPE will feature 140 exhibitors from around the world from leading artists in the contemporary world. From a collaboration with HI-FRUCTOSE Magazine bringing in artists like Okuda San Miguel— who will be painting a live mural for visitors to witness— HOTTEA and AJ Fosik to Netherlands-based artist Hajar Benjida’s homage to Young Thug by juxtaposing photos of the Atlanta rapper with revered historical paintings.
Over the course of the week the SCOPE International Contemporary Art Show will also feature programming and galleries from a range of artists and styles like Lisa Ashinoff, Sosan Kim, Max Sansing, Phyllis Stephens and Ronald Jackson. The New Contemporary galleries focus on urban art and their transformative power, while the Breeder Program highlights new galleries, a longstanding starting point for emerging artists. Over the weekend SCOPE will also host three panel discussions — ‘When Deals Turn Digital,’ ‘The New Contemporary’ and ‘From Mixtapes to Masterpieces.’
The art show will be open starting Wednesday Dec. 5 and closes Sunday Dec. 9 from 11 AM to 8 PM. For more information about the galleries and artist involved check out SCOPE’s website.
