Pink Skies and Paris Nights: A LANY Concert Review
Last month, I had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite bands, LANY, play in Paris.
I was a bit apprehensive of going because I would be attending alone and I am in a place where my knowledge of the language is limited. One of my favorite things about concerts is waiting on line and meeting fellow fans. I decided to do just that and see what French queuing culture was like. Surprisingly, it wasn’t different at all to what I am used to in America. I was able to interact (to the best of my abilities) with those around me and discuss what music interests we have in common.
I previously saw LANY play at the Culture Room in 2016 and I can proudly say that since then they have really grown and perfected their live show. Every moment was filled with so much energy and excitement and frontman Klein made sure to really engage with the crowd, making a very large room still feel intimate. He even jumped in the crowd at one point to sing along with us up close.
As my first real concert experience in another country, this show solidified my thoughts on the universality of music and how it truly can bring anyone and everyone together.
Thank you, LANY, for making me feel at home 2,000 miles away from the 305.
LANY will be playing at The Fillmore Miami Beach on April 23! I highly recommend attending this show!
