Food Review: Komodo in Brickell, Miami
Fish, steak, and dumplings sounds like a perfect night out to me. With appetizers of Chilean sea bass skewers and wagyu skirt steak tacos, it is no wonder KOMODO has made a name for itself as a fine dining restaurant. My group of 5 arrived on a Saturday on September 22nd for a birthday celebration, our reservation was for 11:30PM! Super late I know, but my friends are the last minute kind. With the kitchen closing at midnight, it was a wonder we got food.
Walking in the establishment you can hear the DJ playing Billboards’ Top 40, with the colors of dark red surrounding columns and a bar packed wall-to-wall decorating the entrance of the room . We stood by the bar and waited to be seated by a hostess since we were a little early for our reservation, and at 11:30 on the dot we were taken to our table. We waited possibly 1 minute before we were introduced to our waitress for the night, who was polite and attentive. With empty stomachs we were quick to read the menu and order.
The restaurant was full, so naturally we expected a 20 minute wait from the look of things, thankfully we were proven wrong. The food came out in 5 minutes max! It really doesn’t get any better than that. The food was delicious and hot on arrival. My friends enjoyed their food as well, and we loved the DJ!
My rating for KOMODO is 8.5 out of 10, due to the upscale prices and me mistakenly being served the Wokked Asian Vegetable dish when I ordered the Special Fried Rice. However, with a lively atmosphere, and good service it was a wonderful night, and one of the best Miami dining experiences I’ve had.
