“The Killing Moon” is a specialty show hosted by WVUM’s Blog Director, Cariluna (Caroline Whyte) every Tuesday at 6pm!  Read on to hear more about this WVUM exclusive Goth show.

What is the inspiration for “The Killing Moon”? “I love goth/darkwave music, and i realized that the station did not feature too much of this sound! I wanted to share this music with the listeners and be able to speak on something I’m passionate about! It’s also such a deep and multi-faceted genre, ranging from new wave to shoegaze to minimal electronic, so there’s a ton of variety and different quirks to what I can play and explore! I named the show “The Killing Moon” after the iconic Echo & The Bunnymen song :).”

Favorite artists featured? “The Cure, Strawberry Switchblade, Cranes, and Ghostflower, to name juuuust a few!”

How long has this show been on air? “This is its first semester!”

Favorite show memory? “Since I’ve only had a few episodes, it’s hard to say! However, I am looking forward to the Halloween season to play some classics and deep cuts! I also loved being able to play through/talk about some Goth history this past week.”

What do you love about WVUM?  “EVERYTHING! I have met some of my favorite people here, and I’ve had so many beautiful, priceless experiences with the members, the community, and the audience through the station! It’s a huge lovely family in which one can grow and appreciate a wide range of music and media. I’m so lucky to have it!”
